Papertrey Ink Wonderful Words Fall Friends card

Today I'm sharing a fall card with a fun technique that you can recreate with the use of a few basic supplies you most likely already have in your stash. I thought it would be fun to piece together strips of cardstock and then dry emboss it afterwards.

To keep things from getting too thick, I adhered my strips of cardstock to a thin piece of printer paper and then ran it though my Sizzix machine using a cuttlebug embossing folder.  I love how the embossed design looks bleeding from one strip to the next!

To give my die-cut leaf some extra dimension, I added dry embossed veins using my Martha Stewart score board.  I finished off my card with a stamp & die combo for the sentiment and a little bit of ribbon tied around the center (or should I say faked to look like it was tied around the center).  ;)

Interested in the products I used to create my projects today?  To make supplies easier for you to find, I have listed them below (some affiliate links included).

  1. Oh, Mendi! This is a WONDERFUL, GORGEOUS card!! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE it!!

I have a quick questions about the cover. Did you create a separate sheet to emboss the same size as your card base and adhere it? or did you somehow emboss the front of the card after everything was attached?

(I hope my question makes sense!!)

    1. Thank you. I actually created the front on a piece of printer paper (to make it thinner for embossing) and then adhered it to a separate card base afterwards. :)
